Basic Handgun
This class will familiarize you with the handgun. With safety being our primary topic, you will become accustomed with the nomenclature and operation of your firearm. You will also be educated on basic shooting fundamentals and principles, which are the first steps necessary in developing a proficient level of accuracy when shooting. With the completion of this firearms training course, you will finish with the proper mindset and awareness for basic handgun safe handling, manipulation, draw presentation, loading, unloading, malfunction clearing and safe handgun storage. You will recognize this course to be a solid foundation before advancing on to defensive handgun.
Equipment Needed:
- Cleaned and Oiled Pistol
- Three Magazines
- Eye and Ear Protection
- Duty Belt/Holster/Ammo Pouch
- 250 Rounds of Ammo
- Proper Range Attire


Defensive Handgun
(Prerequisite Basic Handgun)
This class is aimed at those individuals who already have the basic skills and knowledge of the handgun. Giving way to practical application exercises on the range to develop your tactical proficiency in real world scenarios. The student will be shooting on the move, from cover and concealment, and engaging moving targets. With the completion of this firearms training course you will finish with the proper mindset and awareness for defending yourself, along with strategies to exercise during a deadly encounter:
Equipment Needed:
- Cleaned and oiled pistol (semi-auto or revolver)
- Duty belt, ammo pouch and holster
- 300 rounds of ammo
- At least three magazines and revolver speed loaders if applicable
- Knee pads
- Eye and ear protection
- Cleaning kit
- Proper range attire
Advanced Handgun
(Prerequisites: Successful completion of Defensive Handgun or equivalent)
This is a challenging course for those who have completed a TACTICAL AVENEUS Basic and Defensive Handgun Prerequisite Courses or had a comparable firearms training course at another recognized school.

- Malfunction Drills
- Man on man drills with reactive targets
- Shooting on the move
- Shooting from close contact weapon retention position
- Team drills with cover fire
- Defensive measures for home and vehicles
- Advanced night time shooting techniques
- Shooting inside, outside and around a vehicle
- Using a vehicle for cover
- Cleaned and oiled pistol at least 9mm in caliber.
- Three or more magazines
- Holster and belt or duty rig
- Magazine pouch or holder
- Eye and ear protection
- Sturdy flashlight with spare batteries 500 rounds of factory ammunition


Basic Shotgun
(*No Felony Convictions, No Misdemeanor Domestic Violence Convictions, Criminal Background Check Required)
This class will familiarize you with the shotgun. With safety being our primary topic, You will become accustomed with the nomenclature of your shotgun. You will also be educated on the basic shooting fundamentals and principles, which are the first steps necessary in developing a proficient level of accuracy when shooting the shotgun. With the completion of this firearms training course you will finish with the proper mind set and awareness for basic shotgun safe handling, manipulation, loading, unloading, shooting stance and grip and safe shotgun storage. You will recognize this course to be a solid foundation before advancing on to defensive shotgun.
Equipment Needed:
- 12 gauge shotgun (pump or semi-auto)
- Sling
- Ammo pouch, butt cuff or side saddle are recommended
- Ammo 100 rounds bird shot, 50 rounds of buck shot 20 rounds of slug
- Eye and ear protection
- Knee pads
- Proper range attiree
Defensive Shotgun
(Prerequisite Basic Shotgun)
This course is intended for patrol officers, tactical officers or qualified civilians who are striving to improve their operational skills and understanding of the shotgun in its entirety. This training will take the student beyond the basic knowledge of a shotgun and advance their skills to the deployment techniques that are essential while operating a shotgun under defensive situations. Furthermore, during this firearms training course you will practice challenging drills designed to sharpen your ability to be efficient while shooting under various conditions. After completion of this class you will have the complete working knowledge to efficiently engage targets under a multitude of various conditions.

- 12 gauge shotgun (semi-auto or pump) and pistol (semi-auto or revolver)
- Ammo 200 rounds buck shot 100 rounds of slug 150 rounds of pistol ammo
- Duty belt pistol holster and ammo pouch
- Shot gun ammo pouch, butt cuff or side saddle are recommended
- Sling
- Eye and ear protection
- Knee pads
- Proper range attire


Basic Carbine Course
Build a Solid Foundation
